So thanks to the fabulous ladies (KLP & Keyda) of SavingOurStrands I was invited to co-host this week's 'Wash Day Experience!' I was super excited for the opportunity because quite frankly I've been in a bit of a hair funk lately (Winter is sucking the life outta me!) and really needed to give myself a swift kick in the butt to get out of it. Co-hosting this week's 'Wash Day Experience' was the perfect way to do it!
Here's what I did:
- Braided my hair into four sections (thanks to Abbi N of BelowTheWaist for this fabulous idea!)
- Shampooed with my Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo
- Rinsed and applied my Nexxus Emergencee to the length of my hair for about 2 minutes.
- Rinsed with lukewarm water, applied my Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner, and sat under my Gold N Hot conditioning cap for about 20 minutes.
- Rinsed and applied a bit of my Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment while I showered.
- Did a final rinse and t-shirt dried my hair for about 30 minutes.
- Applied my normal leave ins (Chi Keratin Mist, Kimmaytube Leave In, & Macademia Natural Healing Oil).
How was your wash day?

I have some Macadamia Natural Healing Oil that I haven't tried yet. I'm going to include that in my next leave-in mix next week! And your roller set came out so beautifully! Each time I want to do one, I get lazy. I'm going to check out your video and hopefully your inspiration will prompt me to try one soon :)
ReplyDeleteHow often do you use the Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment? I've been curious about this product.
Thank you! I hadn't done one in a long time because I was being lazy lol. I've been using the Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment each wash day as my final rinse out conditioner. So far I really like. It's very moisturizing and helps to cut down on tangles.
DeleteGreat minds think alike! I whipped out my Nexxus Emergencee too this week! I love the way that stuff nips breakage in the bud! Thanks for cohosting the #washdayexperience chica!

LOL I hadn't used my nexxus emergencee in forever! I'll definitely have to put it back into rotation! Thanks for the opportunity!
DeleteI need to dust off my rollers and do a roller set. Great results Courtnea. Looking forward to your relaxer results.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't wait to see how much length I retained!
DeleteYou look gorgeous Courtnea!! So full of life in that photo lol. I can't wait to get my hands on some steam rollers - it shall be soon!
ReplyDeleteDid the braids help the cause or nah? Thanks for the shout-out!

Thank you! Yes the braids did help! I just have to figure out how to keep them from unraveling halfway through the process! It's definitely a great thing to do further along in a stretch!
